0.0: Start at the overflow parking lot near the entrance kiosk. About 2/3 of the way through the lot, turn left onto Laurel Loop Trail.
0.2: Junction. Bear right.
0.3: Junction just before the park boundary with EBMUD property. Turn left onto Lower Sea Foam Trail.
0.7: Signed junction with Upper Sea Foam Trail. Turn right.
1.35: Junction. Turn right onto Black Oak Trail.
1.45: A fire road bends right at a signed junction. Stay to the left on Black Oak Trail.
1.55: Park boundary gate. Stay to the left on Black Oak Trail.
1.7: The trail splits at a signed junction. Stay to the left.
1.8: Signed junction. Turn right.
1.9: Junction. A picnic table sits beneath some oaks on the left -- a good place for lunch on a sunny day. Turn right.
2.0: Junction. Turn left and retrace your steps back to the junction with Upper Sea Foam Trail.
2.4: Junction. Continue straight, now on Kennedy Creek Trail.
2.65: Unsigned junction. Stay to the left.
2.7: Kennedy Creek Trail ends at a signed junction with Laurel Loop Trail. Stay to the right. As you reach the manicured part of the recreation area, walk on the paved path toward the restrooms to the parking areas.
3.0: Back at the trailhead.


Getting there:
From I 80 in Contra Costa County, exit San Pablo Dam Road (exit 18). Drive southeast on San Pablo Dam Road (toward El Sobrante) about 4.5 miles (about 0.6 mile past Castro Ranch Road), then turn left into the park. Continue about 0.2 mile to the park entrance kiosk.
