0.0: Pass through the cattle gate and start up broad San Andreas Fire Road.
0.1: San Marin Fire Road sets off to the right at a signed junction. Continue
straight on San Andreas Fire Road.
0.1: A stile on the left marks an entrance to the sensitive wildlife area. Continue
straight on San Andreas Fire Road.
0.2: On the left, Little Tank Fire Road begins at a signed junction. Continue
straight on San Andreas Fire Road.
0.3: Dwarf Oak Trail meets San Andreas Fire Road at a signed junction. Continue
straight on San Andreas Fire Road.
0.5: Junction. Turn right onto Middle Burdell Fire Road.
0.7: Junction. Turn left on Deer Camp Fire Road.
2.1: Junction. Turn left on Cobblestone Fire Road.
2.7: Cobblestone Fire Road ends at a signed junction with Old Quarry and Burdell
Mountain Fire Road. Turn right on Old Quarry Trail.
3.3: Junction. Turn left onto Middle Burdell Fire Road.
3.3: Old Quarry Trail resumes downhill at a signed junction. Turn right.
3.6: After crossing through a gate, Old Quarry Trail ends at a junction. Turn
right onto San Carlos Fire Road.
3.7: Junction with Salt Lick Fire Road. Stay to the right on San Carlos
Fire Road.
3.9: Junction. Turn right onto Michako Trail.
4.4: Junction. Stay to the right on Big Tank Fire Road.
4.6: Big Tank Fire Road ends at a junction. Continue, now on San Marin Fire
Road.
4.6: Junction with Andreas Court Fire Road. Follow San Marin Fire Road to the
right.
4.7: Junction with San Andreas Fire Road. Turn left.
4.8: Back at the trailhead.
Getting There:
From US 101 in Marin County exit San Marin Drive/Atherton Avenue in Novato. Head
west on San Marin Drive for about 2.5 miles. Turn north (right) unto San Andreas
Drive, and drive about 0.5 mile. Look for and park near the preserve gate.
