0.0: Begin at the edge of the northern parking lot, on Ipiwa Trail/Bay Area Ridge Trail, following signs for Alpine Pond.
0.5: Junction. Turn right onto Sunny Jim Trail.
0.7: Two quick junctions with trails heading west. Continue straight.
1.0: Junction. Turn right.
1.2: Junction. Turn left.
1.2: Junction. Turn right.
1.2: Junction with dead-end trail. Continue straight.
1.3: Junction. Turn right toward Alpine Pond.
1.4: Junction past Daniels Nature Center. Continue to the left around Alpine Pond.
1.45: Junction with trail heading right toward Alpine Road. Continue left/straight. 1.46: Junction with trail heading downhill to the right. Continue left/straight. 1.5: Junction again, with Bay Area Ridge Trail/Ipiwa Trail. Turn right.
2.0: Junction near rock outcrop. Continue straight.
2.4: Junction, again. Turn right onto Sunny Jim Trail.
2.8: Junction. Turn right.
2.9: Junction with Lambert Creek Trail. Continue straight.
2.9: Junction and Horseshoe Pond. Turn left.
3.1: Handicapped parking lot. Cross the lot and look for the continuation of the Ridge Trail.
3.3: Back at the parking lot.

Getting there:
From Interstate 280 in Santa Clara County, exit Page Mill Road (exit #20). Drive west to the junction with Skyline Boulevard (CA 35). Turn left and drive south about 1 mile, to the preserve entrance on the right side of the road. Park at the north lot (to the right).
