Mile:
0.0: Start at the end of Gold Hill Grade, and head uphill wide Gold Hill Grade.
0.1: Unsigned junction with fire road. Stay to the left. From here on, there are many unsigned junctions with trails. Stay on the wide fire road.
1.4: Junction with unsigned paved road. Turn left.
1.5: Signed junction with Bayview Trail. Continue straight.
2.0: Junction. Stay to the left on Bay Hills Fire Road.
2.2: Nike missle site, on the right. Turn around here and retrace your steps back to the trailhead.
4.45: Back at trailhead.
Getting there:
From northbound US 101 in Marin County, exit Central San Rafael. Drive north on Irwin about 0.2 mile, then turn right onto Mission. After one block, turn left onto Grand. Continue north about 1/2 mile, then turn right onto Locust. Drive on Locust 0.1 mile, then turn left to remain on Locust. Continue on Locust 0.4 mile, to side of road parking past the intersection with Deer Park Avenue (shortly before Locust/Gold Hill Grade dead-ends).
