0.0: Begin at the end of the paved parking lot. Although a dirt road leads off to the right, head left, following a sign to the Terwilliger Nature Trail. After a few steps you'll reach a T junction. Turn right.
0.3: Just before a picnic area, follow the trail to the left, across the creekbed. Stay to the right as a path heads left.
0.4: Loop trail begins on the left, before a gate straight ahead. Turn left.
0.6: Signed junction. Turn right, toward the viewpoint.
0.8: Viewpoint and turnaround. Retrace your steps back to the trailhead. (Alternate: back on the other side of the creek, near the picnic area, you can also return to the parking lot via a broad dirt road.)
1.6: Back at the trailhead.

Getting there:
From US 101 in Marin County, exit San Marin Drive/Atherton Avenue. Drive west on San Marin Drive about 3 miles, then turn right onto Novato Boulevard. Drive about 2.5 miles on Novato Boulevard, then turn left into the park. Once past the entrance kiosk, turn right and continue to the end of the paved parking area, about 0.4 mile from the entrance.
