Mile:
0.0: Begin across the street from the parking lot, on Schilling Lake Trail.
0.6: Bridle Trail departs to the right. Follow Schilling Lake Trail to the left.
0.7: Stay to the left, as two dirt roads depart uphill on the right.
0.7: End of Schilling Lake Trail, at a gate near a small lake's shoreline. Retrace your steps back to the trailhead.
1.4: Back at the trailhead.
Getting there:
From Interstate 280 in San Mateo County, exit CA 84 (exit 25). Drive west about 4.6 miles to the preserve entrance on the left side of the road (look for brick gates; the preserve sign is inside those gates). Proceed about 0.2 mile down the narrow road, to the parking lot on the right side of the road.
